Peace Light 2025: Where to Pick It Up in Vienna

The long‑standing Christmas tradition continues: on 24 December 2025, the Peace Light can once again be collected at all main fire stations of the Vienna Professional Fire Brigade. The light will be available between 9:00 and 12:00.

At the Central Fire Station in Vienna’s 1st district (Am Hof 7), the Fire Brigade Museum will also open its doors from 9:00 to 12:00, offering another opportunity to pick up the Peace Light. Families and visitors of all ages are invited to spend part of Christmas Eve morning exploring the museum while waiting for the Christkind. Visitors are kindly asked to bring their own lantern to transport the flame safely.

Fire Brigade Museum: Holiday Opening Hours

The Fire Brigade Museum, located inside the Central Fire Station at Am Hof, is usually open on Tuesdays from 14:00 to 17:00 and on Sundays and public holidays from 9:00 to 12:00. During the Christmas season, it will be open on:

24–26 December
28 and 31 December
4 and 6 January

each from 9:00 to 12:00. The museum will remain closed on 23 and 30 December as well as on 1 January 2026. Admission is free.

Peace Light in Wiener Neustadt

The Peace Light is also available in Wiener Neustadt. From 19 to 26 December 2025, it can be collected at the alarm center at Babenbergerring 6.

Additionally, the flame is already available at the entrance area of the Volunteer Fire Brigade Wiener Neustadt (entrance via Herrengasse). Visitors are reminded to bring a lantern and a candle. Small donations are appreciated.
