Philippine Embassy Launches Digital Billboard Hunt with Prizes Up for Grabs

Vienna’s bustling city center is getting a tropical splash of color this January as two of the Philippines’ most iconic destinations—El Nido, Palawan and Maasin River, Siargao—appear on large digital billboards across the capital. From 10 to 31 January, residents and visitors in Vienna can catch a glimpse of these world‑renowned landscapes right in the heart of Europe.

The initiative, launched by the Philippine Embassy in Austria, aims to spark curiosity, celebrate Filipino tourism, and invite the public to join a playful citywide challenge. The Embassy encourages everyone to keep their eyes open while strolling through Vienna’s central districts: Can you spot El Nido’s limestone cliffs or Siargao’s famous bent palm tree above the busy streets?

A Photo Hunt with a Tropical Twist

To make the experience even more engaging, the Embassy has opened a mini‑contest on its social media platforms. Participants simply need to:

  • Find one of the El Nido or Maasin River digital billboards in Vienna
  • Take a photo with it
  • Comment on the Embassy’s Facebook or Instagram post with the photo and the exact location

The first 10 followersfive on Facebook and five on Instagram—to submit valid entries will receive Love the Philippines merchandise. Winners will be contacted via direct message with instructions on how to claim their prizes.

Bringing the Philippines Closer to Europe

The campaign highlights the Philippines’ commitment to promoting its natural wonders to a global audience. By showcasing these destinations in Vienna’s high‑traffic areas, the Embassy hopes to inspire more Europeans to explore the country’s beaches, rivers, and vibrant culture.

As the digital displays continue to brighten Vienna’s winter days, the Embassy invites everyone to join the fun: spot the billboards, snap a photo, and share the moment.

Let the hunt begin—and may the most observant explorers win a piece of the Philippines.
