Austria heads into an unsettled stretch of weather over the weekend, with a mix of sunshine, clouds and recurring rain showers. While some regions enjoy brighter spells, others will see brisk winds and passing showers as Atlantic systems move across the country.
Friday: Sunshine Early, Rain From the Northwest
The day begins mostly sunny in the south and east, but clouds thicken steadily from the northwest and spread across all regions.
By midday, widespread rain sets in across western Austria. The east and south remain dry for longer, though isolated rain showers may still develop.
In the north and east, a lively westerly wind picks up.

- Afternoon highs: 14 to 22°C
Saturday: Unsettled Start, Brighter Finish
Dense clouds and showers continue along the Alpine main ridge from the Tennengau eastward, as well as in northern and eastern Austria. A strong west-northwesterly wind blows especially across the Alpine foothills.
As the day progresses, the risk of showers decreases and sunshine becomes more dominant.
The southern side of the Alps enjoys friendlier conditions from the start, with more sunshine, only isolated showers and warmer afternoon temperatures.

- Afternoon highs: 20 to 26°C
Sunday: Up to 27 Degrees, but Local Thunderstorms
Sunday brings more sunshine overall, with several longer bright intervals.
However, north of the Alps, clouds will again build during the day, bringing scattered showers. In the south and southeast, towering cumulus clouds may produce local thunderstorms.
A brisk west to northwest wind blows across the Alpine foothills and the eastern regions.

Monday: Mix of Sun, Clouds and Isolated Storms
The new week starts partly sunny and partly cloudy. As the day goes on, high-reaching cumulus clouds develop, leading to isolated thunderstorms — mainly in mountain regions and the southeast.
Along the northern Alps, the west to northwest wind strengthens again.

- Afternoon highs: 18 to 24°C
Tuesday: Mostly Sunny and Pleasant
Tuesday is shaping up to be one of the friendliest days of the week. Many regions enjoy abundant sunshine with only a few harmless clouds.
Stronger cumulus clouds may form over the mountains and in the southwest, but thunderstorms remain the exception. Winds stay mostly light to moderate.
