VIENNA, Austria — The Philippine Embassy in Austria, in collaboration with the Himig Kabataan Cultural Society (HKCS), is proud to present “PASALUBONG: Souvenirs from the Motherland,” a special cultural performance taking place on Monday, July 27, 2026, at 18:00 at the Pfarrkirche Floridsdorf in Vienna.
As part of their milestone 2026 international debut, HKCS is representing Canada and the Philippines at the prestigious 2026 World Peace Choral Festival in Vienna. This special performance at Pfarrkirche Floridsdorf brings their celebrated repertoire directly to the local community in Austria.

Taking its title from the cherished Filipino custom of pasalubong—gifts or souvenirs brought home to loved ones after a journey—“PASALUBONG: Souvenirs from the Motherland” offers audiences an evocative musical experience showcasing the depth and beauty of Filipino choral music.
About Himig Kabataan Cultural Society (HKCS)
The choral division of HKCS serves as the founding group and heart of the collective. Composed of talented young singers aged 15 to 24 with diverse musical backgrounds, HIMIG performs choral compositions written and arranged by renowned Filipino artists. Their versatile repertoire ranges from traditional folk songs and classic kundiman to Original Pilipino Music (OPM) and contemporary works by Filipino composers worldwide.
HIMIG has performed widely across the British Columbia Lower Mainland in Canada, including renditions of the Canadian national anthem at major sporting events for teams such as the Vancouver Whitecaps and the Vancouver Bandits. Beyond provincial borders, the ensemble shared their talents at the Edmonton Heritage Festival in 2024 before embarking on their current 2026 international tour to Vienna.
