In addition to the U.S. and Israel, northern Macedonia, Montenegro, Kosovo and Lebanon are also affected.

The EU is again recommending stricter entry rules for people from countries such as the U.S. and Israel. A total of six states were removed on Monday from the list of third countries for which Corona restrictions should no longer apply, as the Council of Member States announced. The reason is in particular high incidence figures. In addition to the U.S. and Israel, northern Macedonia, Montenegro, Kosovo and Lebanon are also affected.

USA was only removed in June
The EU had only added the United States to its list of third countries to which entry restrictions should no longer apply in June. However, there had also been criticism of this decision because the U.S., for its part, has so far stuck to far-reaching Corona entry bans for people from Europe. “We insist that comparable rules apply to entrants in both directions,” EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said most recently on the subject.

The list of countries for which entry restrictions are no longer recommended still includes countries such as Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and South Korea.
