This weekend, sunshine characterizes the weather pattern across Austria. According to the ZAMG, temperatures will rise to up to 26 degrees, so September will begin with late summer warmth.
After the end of the coolest and dullest August since 2014, September presents itself by far friendlier so far. Also for the coming weekend, thanks to the influence of high pressure, late summer weather is offered with maximum temperatures that are mostly around 25 degrees Celsius, as the forecast of the Central Institute for Meteorology and Geodynamics (ZAMG) promises on Thursday: rain showers are the exception, sunshine continues to be the rule.
Sunshine predominates on Friday
In all parts of the country, the sun will prevail again on Friday, after small-scale early fog patches should clear after a few hours. A few larger spring clouds are most likely to form over the main ridge of the Alps in the afternoon, the tendency to showers remains low even there.
The wind will blow weakly to moderately, preferably from east to south. After early temperatures of six to 14 degrees, highs of 21 to 26 degrees are forecast.
Up to 26 degrees expected on Saturday
Sunshine will dominate the weather character throughout Austria on Saturday, patches of early morning fog are only to be found in isolated cases. In the afternoon, somewhat more spring clouds will form over some Alpine peaks in the west and southwest than recently, but in most cases it will remain dry and also the wind will generally blow only weakly.
Seven to 13 degrees in the morning will again become 21 to 26 degrees during the day.
Late summer weather continues on Sunday
In most of the country, the sunny late summer weather will continue on Sunday. Especially in the north and east, there will be hardly any clouds and plenty of sunshine during the day. Over the mountains and generally towards the southwest, however, more spring clouds will form and as a result, individual rain showers can be expected there.
The wind will blow mainly weak and after eight to 14 degrees, the values will rise to 19 to 25 degrees.
New week starts sunny and mild
The high pressure influence in the Eastern Alps continues on Monday. Thus, very sunny weather again prevails in most parts of the country. In the inner Alps, however, the day will start with areas of haze and fog and in the afternoon shallow spring clouds will appear in the mountains, but even in the high mountains the tendency to showers will remain very low. The wind will generally be light. Early temperatures seven to 14 degrees, daytime highs 18 to 25 degrees, the slightly subdued temperature maxima around 20 degrees apply to the north.
Predominantly sunny is also the daily forecast for Tuesday, as local early fog patches quickly disappear. Only in the northeast and east will harmless clouds show up at times, otherwise it will be only slightly cloudy and the wind will remain light. After early values between eight and 14 degrees, the daily highs will rise again to 20 to 25 degrees.
