According to Kyiv, more than 100 children have been killed since the Russian attack on Ukraine began nearly three weeks ago. “A bloody line was crossed today,” the Ukrainian Defense Ministry tweeted today.

“Every minute a child leaves Ukraine to escape the war. Russia will be held accountable and will pay for everything,” the Defense Ministry said at the same time as it published the casualty figure.

Earlier, Ukrainian authorities had reported hundreds of school facilities were destroyed. The figures cannot be independently verified.

The UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights has documented the deaths of 691 civilians in Ukraine since Russian troops invaded. The number of unreported cases is expected to be much higher.
