According to the United Nations (UN), more than 5.5 million people have fled Ukraine since the war started on Feb. 24.
The number is based on various information, the UN refugee agency UNHCR says. It mainly refers to counts made by the authorities at official border crossings.
Russia records significant losses.
The UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) expects 8.3 million people to flee Ukraine this year. A UNHCR spokeswoman said last week in Geneva.
