The mild weather will remain in the coming days after Christmas. According to the Central Institute for Meteorology and Geodynamics (ZAMG) forecast, changeable weather and temperatures up to 13 degrees are expected in the coming days.

Often sunny weather is expected on Christmas Day, especially in the western and southern half, away from fog zones. However, on the northern side of the Alps and in the east, a slight disturbance influence will be effective, leading to partly dense clouds and some rain until noon. With the departure of the disturbance to the east, the sun will temporarily shine before the fog, and high moisture will spread over the lowlands in the evening. The wind will blow weakly to moderately from different directions. Early temperatures will range from minus three to plus six degrees, with daytime highs between five and 13 degrees.

Rainy on Monday
On Monday, St. Stephen’s Day will bring mostly sunny weather with only high clouds. Over the Danube region, the lowlands in the east and the valleys and basins in the south, however, a tenacious blanket of high fog will persist. In the afternoon and evening, more clouds will move into the northwest, and Vorarlberg will gradually begin to rain. Otherwise, the rain will only spread during the night. The snow line will drop to 1,800 to 1,500 meters by evening, at night in Vorarlberg, towards 1,000 meters above sea level. The wind blows primarily weak from different directions, with disturbance elevator, it turns to the west and revives. From minus two to plus five degrees, temperatures will rise to a maximum of four to twelve degrees.

On Tuesday, after the overnight passage of a cold front on the northern side of the Alps, dense clouds will persist, and light rain or snow will fall. The snow line ranges between 600 and 1,000 meters. During the day, however, the sun will come out more and more. The wind will blow moderately to briskly from westerly directions and gradually decrease during the day. Early temperatures will be around minus three to plus five degrees, and daily highs will be around plus four to ten degrees.

Also, next week will be mild.
On Wednesday, sunshine and cloud fields will alternate with a westerly high-altitude current and a high-pressure influence close to the ground. There will be a few tenacious patches of high fog in the lowlands, especially in the south. The wind will blow weakly from westerly directions. Early temperatures will be minus seven to plus one degrees, with daytime highs of one to nine degrees.

On Thursday, a west-southwesterly high-altitude current will continue to bring mild temperatures. In alpine valleys and basins in the south, fog patches along the Danube will dissipate in the morning; otherwise, extensive, high-lying cloud fields will alternate with sunshine. A cold front approaches from the west in the afternoon, bringing the first rain showers to Vorarlberg towards evening. The wind will be light to moderate in the evening in the west, partly briskly freshening, from south to west. The values rise to seven to 13 degrees from minus four to plus five in the morning.
