Over the long weekend, the weather returns from its unsettled side. Rain showers and thunderstorms are on the way, especially in the east and south of Austria. However, temperatures will remain summery warm.

Geosphere says the low-pressure center will lie in higher layers over Austria on Thursday. Thus, the first thunderstorms and showers will already form during the morning hours in the south and east. During the day, the thunderstorm activity will spread almost over the entire federal territory, but locally heavy rainfall is expected again. The sun will appear only occasionally. Daytime highs will range from 22 to 27 degrees Celsius and will be hot in the west.

Showers and thunderstorms on Friday in the east of Austria already in the morning
The low center in high layers will move off to the east on Friday and come to rest over Hungary at the end of the working week. Once again, the eastern half of Austria will be affected by short showers and thunderstorms starting in the morning. The Geosphere forecasts locally also more significant amounts of rain. Towards the west, there will be, at most, a few isolated showers over the mountains and quite a few hours of sunshine. Daytime highs of 22 to 28 degrees are expected.

Saturday and Sunday will be warm and changeable.
In the western half, sunshine will predominate on Saturday until the afternoon. Otherwise, it will be only regionally sunny at times. In the afternoon, some showers and thunderstorms will focus on the south and east. Highs between 23 and 28 degrees are forecast, with peaks in the west.

On Sunday, it will remain sunny in the west; in the eastern half, there will be more clouds with isolated sunny spells. In the afternoon, individual thunderstorms are possible over the mountains west of the country. Again, the meteorologists expect between 23 to 28 degrees, with the highest temperatures in Vorarlberg.

On Monday, up to 29 degrees forecast
Monday morning, there will be fog fields in the Alpine valleys, in the south also some residual clouds, but these will dissolve during the day and be replaced by the sun. In the afternoon, some spring clouds will form over the mountains from the Arlberg to the Niedere Tauern, from which rain showers or thunderstorms will develop in places until the evening, but for the most part, it should remain dry. In Upper and parts of Lower Austria, the wind may pick up a bit. Daytime highs will stay at 22 to 29 degrees, with highs in the west.
