Yesterday, Thursday, up to 37 degrees were recorded in the east of Austria.
Late summer has Austria firmly in its grip this week! Temperatures are now rising to 30 degrees; it will be even hotter on the weekend.
A stable omega high-pressure weather currently determines the weather in Central Europe and the coming days. Thus, the weather will be calm and often sunny, with above-average weekly temperatures.
On Friday, the sunny late summer weather continues. On the northern edge of the Alps and in some valleys and basins, the day will start with fog patches, but these will make way for the sun in the morning. Away from them, bright sunshine will dominate. In the afternoon, in the west, only light spring clouds will appear over the mountains. The wind blows weakly or in the north moderately from the east, and the temperatures reach 24 to 30 degrees.
Saturday will start mostly sunny in the southern basins, in the Mur-Mürz furrow and on the northern edge of the Alps from Lake Constance to the Salzkammergut; some fog patches will persist. In the course of the morning, however, bright sunshine will prevail here as well. In the afternoon, a few scattered clouds will appear over the mountains. Otherwise, the sky will often be cloudless. In the eastern lowlands, a moderate to brisk southeast wind will blow, and the air will warm up to 25 to 30 or, in the Upper Inn Valley locally, even 31 degrees.
On Sunday, there will be a few changes. Local early morning fog at the edge of the Alps will soon clear, and the sun will shine. Apart from harmless spring clouds over the mountains, the sky is primarily cloudless. The wind will be mainly light to moderate from the south to the east, and the highs will range between 25 and 31 degrees.
