From July 1, the seven-day and 31-day tickets, which have only been available digitally since 2022, will also be available as transferable paper tickets in future. Passengers will then also be able to choose the validity period freely.

The ticket range is being standardized. The new transferable season tickets will replace the existing weekly and monthly tickets, Wiener Linien announced in a press release on Tuesday. In future, the period of validity can be freely selected, and the validity according to calendar weeks or months will no longer apply.

After the introduction of the 24-hour ticket, a clear preference for this ticket was measured, which is why the 1-day Vienna ticket and the 8-day climate ticket will no longer be offered from July 1. The 1-day Vienna Ticket currently costs 5.80 euros, while the 24-hour ticket costs eight euros.

Transferable season tickets are more expensive
As part of the standardization, the prices of the 7-day and 31-day tickets will also be adjusted slightly. From July 1, the 7-day ticket will cost 22.60 euros. 19.70 euros will be charged for the digital, personalized version. The transferable 31-day ticket will cost 58.70 euros in future, while the personalized 31-day ticket will remain unchanged at 51 euros.

The price difference between transferable and personalized tickets is explained by the additional option of transferring the ticket to other passengers. The annual ticket is still available for 365 euros, and the prices for all other tickets (one-way tickets and season tickets for 24, 48 and 72 hours) remain unchanged.
