Calls of this kind come from various countries. The phone number +4367762016973 is currently displayed when scammers try to help you while they pull off their scam supposedly. Find out here what it’s all about and how to block the number.

The number +4367762016973 belongs to the Austrian T-Mobile mobile network. Similar calls have recently been made to the number 00447543195257 from England. And the callers always claim to want to help you free of charge.

What do the callers behind the number +4367762016973 want?

・Only poorly German-speaking call center employees pretend to be a consumer advice center or “termination department,” for example, and offer to help you.

・They claim that you have taken part in a competition that is now subject to a charge and that you can no longer cancel it yourself because the objection period has expired.

・They then rattle off a memorized text describing a horror scenario of reminders and bills that await you shortly.

・You supposedly won’t get away with paying anything after all: as a gesture of goodwill, the costs could be reduced so that you only have to pay €89.00 for 3 months instead of 12.

・In order to carry out this termination, they want to have your data confirmed and read it to you so that you have to answer “Yes” on the phone. (“Am I speaking to…?”)

・Finally, they also want your account details. All this information is recorded.

It is noticeable that there is a relatively long pause in the conversation before they finally ask you whether the agreement is correct and whether your participation should be terminated. During this time, further sentences are probably spoken into the tape recording, which you cannot hear but which impose a lottery contract on you.

Block the telephone number +4367762016973 or the entire area code

As long as you do not regularly receive calls from the Austrian mobile network, you should block the entire area code +43677 in your device. This is easy to do in the landline network, in the Fritzbox, and with Android, but with the iPhone, you have to block the numbers individually.

While you have to do this individually on the iPhone, you can block entire area codes with an app on Android.

In the Telekom fixed network, you can block numbers or entire areas by entering them in the block list.

You can block the number in the Fritzbox by opening the settings and adding it to the blacklist.
