The weather will be milder again next week. Due to a warm front that will hit Austria on Monday, the experts at Geosphere Austria are forecasting temperatures of up to ten degrees. However, the weekend will still be unsettled.
High air pressure will continue to dominate the weather on Friday. Very sunny weather will prevail in the mountains, but in many basins and valleys, but also in the east and southeast, fog or high fog is to be expected. The wind will blow weakly in the Danube region and the northeast, moderately from east to southeast. Early temperatures will range from minus eleven degrees to minus one degree, with daytime highs of minus two to plus seven degrees.
A light disturbance will bring dense clouds to most of the country on Saturday and will cause snowfall and sleet in the west and southwest, especially in the southern slopes. The wind will blow mainly weak to moderate from south to west. In the Vienna Woods region, it will pick up at times during the course of the day. Early temperatures will be between minus nine and zero degrees, with daytime highs of minus one to plus five degrees.
With a disturbance, it will be mostly cloudy on Sunday, with widespread rain and snow on the northern side of the Alps. The cloud cover will break up a little in the northeast in the afternoon. In the south, on the other hand, it will be clear throughout the day, allowing the sun to shine in places. The wind will blow weakly to moderately in the north and east, along the main Alpine ridge, and briskly from west to northwest. Temperatures in the morning will reach between minus seven and plus one degree, with daytime highs between minus one and plus eight degrees.
Warm front reaches Austria
On Monday, a warm front will bring many clouds with rain and snowfall, especially north of the main Alpine ridge. The snow line will rise rapidly from around 600 to 1,500 to 2,000 meters above sea level. South of the main Alpine ridge, there will also be sunshine with variable cloud cover. In the afternoon, it will clear up in the west and south, while it will remain cloudy in the rest of the country. The wind will be mostly moderate to brisk from west to northwest. The wind will be strong in the east, especially in exposed locations. Early temperatures will be between minus six and plus two degrees, with daily highs between two and eight degrees.
With the influence of high pressure, it will often be sunny in the west and south on Tuesday. Between Salzburg and Burgenland, there will initially be residual clouds from which it may sometimes rain. In the afternoon, the cloud cover will clear, and the sun will shine in some regions. In the north and east, the wind will be mostly weak to moderate, still brisk, from westerly directions. Early temperatures will range from minus two to plus seven degrees, with daytime highs between six and ten degrees.
