According to the Geosphere forecast from Sunday, the coming week will be sunny and mild: Temperatures are expected to rise to highs of up to 20 degrees Celsius, with the mildest temperatures in the west of Austria. However, the lowest early temperatures will remain in the minus range. High air pressure will ensure sunshine and dry weather on Monday.

The last of the early morning fog, which mainly appears in the Rhine and Inn valleys and other inner-Alpine basins and valleys, will usually clear quickly at the beginning of the week as the day progresses. There will generally only be a light wind from northerly directions. It will be minus seven to zero degrees in the morning, then six to 14 degrees during the day.

High pressure continues to dominate

High air pressure will continue dominating the weather in Austria on Tuesday, with only a few thin veils of cloud adorning the sky during the morning hours, especially north of the main Alpine ridge. However, the day will start with shallow fog, especially around Lake Constance and the Rhine and Inn valleys. The wind will again be mostly light. It will be minus six to plus one degree in the morning, with the lowest temperatures measured in the inner Alpine basins and valleys. During the day, temperatures will reach seven to 17 degrees, and it will still be warmest in the west.

The bright and sunny high-pressure weather will continue on Wednesday. There will initially be a few fog patches in places around Lake Constance or in the northern foothills of the Alps, but these will clear quickly during the day. The wind will be light. Early temperatures of minus six to zero degrees will be followed by daytime highs between eleven and 18 degrees.

Sahara dust and veil clouds in the west

High pressure will continue to dominate on Thursday with an increasingly foehn-like southerly current. Local patches of fog will clear quickly and the sun will prevail. In the west, however, some Saharan dust in the air and a few high veil clouds may dampen the sunshine somewhat. The wind will blow weakly to moderately, sometimes briskly from the southeast to south in foehn areas after early temperatures of between minus four and plus two degrees, highs of 13 to 20 degrees are expected, with the highest values on the slightly foehny northern side of the Alps.

It will remain mainly sunny on Friday, and there will also be a southerly flow. However, passing high cloud fields and Saharan dust in the air may sometimes cloud the sunlight. Local patches of fog will clear quickly. The wind will blow weakly to moderately from east to south, sometimes briskly in foehn areas. Depending on the wind, early temperatures will be minus four to plus five degrees and daytime highs will be between 13 and 20 degrees.
