According to the Sunday geosphere forecast, the coming week will bring very sunny weather. The influence of high pressure will ensure this at the start of the week, and highs of up to 27 degrees Celsius can be expected over the course of the week, including on May 1. However, local rain showers or isolated thunderstorms are possible.
The sun will shine from an almost cloudless sky on Monday in the east and southeast. Further west, in East Tyrol and Upper Carinthia, on the other hand, the spring clouds will become thicker in the morning, and rain showers and thunderstorms are to be expected, especially over the Alpine peaks. The wind will blow weakly in the eastern lowlands, and on the eastern edge of the Alps, it will pick up moderately from the northeast to the south as the day progresses. After early morning temperatures of four to eight degrees, temperatures will reach 15 to 23 degrees during the day.
High air pressure will continue to dominate the weather in Austria on Tuesday. Spring clouds will become increasingly heavy, especially over the Alpine peaks, and in the afternoon also over the lowlands in the east – and with them, rain showers and sometimes even thunderstorms will form, especially in Tyrol and Vorarlberg, but also in parts of Styria, southern Lower Austria, East Tyrol, and Salzburg. The wind will blow weakly to moderately from the northeast to the south. Four to ten degrees are expected in the morning, then 18 to 25 degrees as the day progresses.
A similar pattern will continue on Wednesday, with a few spring clouds forming again during the day, mainly in the mountains. Local showers and isolated thunderstorms are possible in the second half of the day, especially between Vorarlberg and the Salzburger Land. The wind will blow only weakly from different directions, and after five to ten degrees, 17 to 26 degrees are expected during the day.
Sunny weather will continue to dominate on May 1st. Only a few clouds are expected on Thursday, especially in the morning. Later, temporarily scattered clouds will move across the sky, but the sunshine will hardly be dimmed. The likelihood of rain showers will increase, especially in the south and in the mountains. The wind will blow weakly to moderately from northerly directions. After five to 12 degrees in the morning hours, highs of 19 to 27 degrees await.
A weak disturbance zone on Friday will bring a few clouds across the sky from the north. These will temporarily cloud the sunshine and cause the odd rain shower in the afternoon. Otherwise, the sunny weather will continue to predominate. The wind from the west to northwest will be light at first and then freshen up moderately to briskly as the day progresses, especially in the mountains and eastern lowlands. After early morning temperatures between six and 13 degrees, highs of between 19 and 27 degrees are again on the cards.
