A cold front will initially bring dense clouds, rain, showers, and cooling to Austria at the start of the week. From Tuesday, however, the sun will push through again and bring summery temperatures, as the Geosphere Austria forecasts showed on Sunday. The 30-degree mark is also expected to be broken again over the week in time for the Corpus Christi holiday.
The start of the week will be cloudy. Thunderstorms are also expected in the southeast on Monday. The sun will only appear occasionally, and it will remain wet for most of the day. According to the forecast, the weather will calm down again by the evening, and the rain showers will slowly subside. The wind will blow moderately to briskly from the west-northwest in the north and east. Temperatures of between 13 and 20 degrees are expected in the morning and 21 to 25 degrees during the day.
High pressure brings plenty of sunshine
On Tuesday, it will be mostly dry and quite sunny throughout the day as the air pressure rises. At most, there will be temporary areas of low clouds. It will be sunniest in the west of the country. The wind will be mostly weak to moderate; in the east, quite brisk from the northwest in places. The thermometer will show between eleven and sixteen degrees in the morning, with daytime highs between twenty-one and twenty-eight degrees.
In the middle of the week, the sun will shine widely thanks to the influence of high pressure. According to Geosphere, the few cumulus clouds will remain mostly flat and harmless; only near the main Alpine ridge may they become somewhat heavier in the afternoon. In most cases, it will remain dry throughout. The wind will be mainly light. Early morning temperatures are forecast to be between eight and 16 degrees, and during the day, 24 to 30 degrees.
Sunny weather for Corpus Christi
Corpus Christi on Thursday will be sunny in most regions. As the day progresses, a few heavier clouds will appear in the north and later over the mountains. Short rain showers and occasional thunderstorms are also possible in places. The wind will mainly blow from a northwesterly to northerly direction, with at least moderate winds in some regions. In the morning, temperatures between ten and 19 degrees are expected; during the day, from north to south, around 23 to 31 degrees.
Sunny weather will prevail again on Friday. According to Geosphere, it will remain almost cloudless over the lowlands. It is possible that in the afternoon, cumulus clouds may increase in places in the west and southwest near the main Alpine ridge and end in isolated showers or thunderstorm cells. The wind will be weak in many places and temporarily moderate from northerly directions in the eastern lowlands. Early morning temperatures will be between nine and 17 degrees, and daytime highs will mostly be between 21 and 28 degrees.
