Vienna, Austria – June 23, 2025 — Officers and members of the Council of Filipino Associations in Austria (CFAA) convened a preparatory meeting over the weekend to finalize arrangements for the upcoming Barrio Fiesta. The annual cultural event will take place on July 19, 2025, at ATV Liesing, Franz-Heidergasse 14 / Pellmanngasse 6, 1230 Vienna.
The primary focus of the meeting was on distributing booths to participating groups, organisations, and entrepreneurs. These booths will serve as spaces for selling Filipino products and showcasing regional cultures from across the Philippines.
Barrio Fiesta pioneer Boy Torres led the discussion on rules and regulations, emphasizing order, cleanliness, and respect for cultural representation. Torres, one of the early organizers of the Barrio Fiesta in Vienna, reminded participants of the event’s legacy as a community celebration rooted in unity and cultural pride.
CFAA Chairman Elmer Blanco expressed his appreciation to all attendees for their support and cooperation. “This event is an opportunity for us to share our heritage with the broader Austrian community proudly,” Blanco said. “We hope the 2025 Barrio Fiesta will be a successful showcase of Filipino music, dance, food, and togetherness.”
With preparations well underway, excitement is building for what is expected to be one of the most significant Filipino community events in Austria this year. The Barrio Fiesta remains a vibrant symbol of Filipino identity abroad.
