For the first time, more than 20,000 new infections with the coronavirus have been registered in Germany within a single day. The public health authorities in Germany reported 21,506 new corona infections to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) within 24 hours. This is the result of information provided by the RKI this morning. On Friday a week ago, the number of new infections reported was 18,681.
According to the RKI, a total of 619,089 people throughout Germany have been infected with Sars-CoV-2 since the beginning of the pandemic (as of November 6, 00:00 hrs). The number of deaths in connection with the virus has increased by 166 to date to a total of 11,096. The RKI estimates that around 402,500 people have now recovered.
