In the fight against the coronavirus pandemic, the vaccine developed by the AstraZeneca Group and the University of Oxford will be used in Great Britain from today. Initially, 530,000 doses of this vaccine are available, according to government figures. In total, the UK has ordered 100 million doses from AstraZeneca.
So far, more than one million doses of the vaccine from Mainz-based Biontech and its U.S. partner Pfizer have been administered in the United Kingdom. The UK is one of the countries in Europe hardest hit by the coronavirus pandemic. In the fight against the virus, the government is counting on a rapid vaccination campaign.
