The trend continues to be positive: even though the nationwide seven-day incidence has already reached a very low level, it continues to decline and is currently reported at 5.1. The same applies to the number of newly infected persons and deaths.
Health authorities in Germany have reported 892 new Corona infections to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) within one day. That’s according to figures released Thursday morning, reflecting the RKI dashboard’s 4:14 a.m. status. By comparison, the figure a week ago had been 1008 infections. The RKI gave the seven-day incidence as 5.1 nationwide (previous day: 5.2; previous week: 6.6).
Nationwide, 63 deaths were recorded within 24 hours, according to this information. A week ago, there were 93 deaths. The RKI counted 3,729,033 confirmed infections with Sars-CoV-2 since the start of the pandemic, but the actual total is likely to be much higher because many infections go undetected. The RKI reported the number of people who recovered as 3,625,700. The number of people who died from or with the involvement of a confirmed infection with Sars-CoV-2 rose to 90,938.
