After the violent death of George Floyd, who died in the USA through the actions of a policeman, protests against racism are now reaching Austria. Today there were demonstrations in Vienna.
Despite strong rain, some 20,000 people gathered at the Human Rights Square in downtown Vienna on Thursday afternoon to protest against racism and police violence. The route took the participants from Getreidemarkt – Rechte Wienzeile – Treitlstraße to Resselpark.
