In the last seven days, almost 6,000 new infections with the coronavirus have been recorded nationwide.
Vienna. According to data from the Ministry of Health, a total of 5,963 new coronavirus infections were recorded in Austria between Monday, 28 September 2020 and Monday, 05 October 2020. In the last seven days there were also 40 coronavirus-related deaths nationwide. To date, 818 people have therefore died as a result of a Covid-19 infection.
There are currently 8,704 active cases in Austria (Burgenland (184), Carinthia (165), Lower Austria (1,188), Upper Austria (887), Salzburg (321), Styria (524), Tyrol (660), Vorarlberg (401) and Vienna (4,374)).
In total, 1,686,373 tests have been performed throughout Austria since the beginning of the corona virus pandemic. 48,896 of them were positive. According to this, every 34th person (34,48) tested positive for the novel virus to date. 39,058 persons are considered to have recovered.
The situation in the hospitals: currently 103 intensive care beds and 373 normal beds are occupied in the hospitals. According to Ministry of Health however still 7,879 normal and 674 intensive care beds are available.
