Following the sharp increase in CoV cases in France, the number of people in intensive care units has also increased sharply. There are currently 2,090 intensive care beds for corona patients – 1,441 more than a week ago, the health authorities announced yesterday. In the past 24 hours, 146 people have died as a result of CoV disease, according to the data. Most recently, more than 2,000 people were treated in intensive care units in May.

At the peak of the pandemic in April, more than 7,000 patients were in intensive care units in the country. France has a total of 5,800 intensive care beds, according to Health Minister Olivier Veran. The situation is currently particularly tense in Paris and the surrounding area. There, the occupancy rate of intensive care beds rose to 50 percent.

With more than 33,600 corona deaths, France is one of the countries in Europe most affected by the pandemic. France has about 67 million inhabitants.
