From Tuesday on, there is a curfew between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. – except for 5 reasons.

Who leaves the private dwellings starting from Tuesday between 20 o’clock and 6 o’clock, must count on up to 1,450 euro penalty. This was announced today at the government press conference on the new lockdown regulations.

As in spring, five exceptions apply: It is permitted to leave for the exercise of professional purposes and for the covering of necessary basic needs of the daily life (for example purchase, physician, pharmacy attendance, bank or transactions with public authorities). This also includes the care and nursing of those in need of assistance and the exercise of family rights and duties. Other evening or night-time visits to other people’s homes are prohibited. The “own private living area” may only be left to avert an immediate danger to life, limb and property.

The fifth reason to go out is for the purpose of “physical and mental recreation”, i.e. to stay outside. As explicit examples, the government mentions walks, jogging or walking with the dog. After approval by the Main Committee on Sunday, the exit restrictions will apply until November 12, but may be extended several times until the end of November.
