The number of new corona cases is increasing explosively. In 24 hours there were 7,416 new infections.
The measures of the federal government, above all the lockdown and the imposed curfew, still need time before they are reflected in the reduction of the corona figures. This is also shown by the figures on Thursday. No fewer than 7,416 new infections were registered in the past 24 hours (as of 9:30 a.m.). The number of deaths is also high at 41.
This high number is only partly surprising. It was already known that the Austrian capital alone had 1,231 new infections. The number of virus-related deaths in Vienna represents an increase of eight persons compared to the previous day.
So far there have been 132,515 positive test results in Austria. As of today (November 5, 2020, 09:30 a.m.), 1,268 people throughout Austria have died as a result of the corona virus and 80,604 have recovered. At present, 2,737 people are undergoing hospital treatment due to the corona virus and 407 of these patients are in intensive care units.
