As of today, stricter quarantine regulations apply when entering Bavaria from foreign CoV risk areas. Quarantine obligation will then apply in principle to all Bavarian returnees who have stayed in Tyrol or another risk area for longer than 24 hours, as well as to all foreigners who stay in Germany for longer than 24 hours.
So far the period was twice as long. The duration of the quarantine was shortened for it – as in Austria – from 14 to ten days.
Compulsory testing for commuters?
In Bavaria, however, there is a regular compulsory testing requirement for cross-border commuters. This means that commuters and other people who travel to a neighboring country or go to Bavaria for work must have themselves tested every week. Exempt from the quarantine regulations are, among others, soldiers from NATO countries and high-ranking diplomats.
