In Germany, health authorities have reported 22,461 new corona infections to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) within 24 hours. This is 1,081 cases less than on Friday, according to the RKI data from Saturday morning. The figure is also slightly lower compared to Saturday last week. At that time, the number of reported new infections was 23,399.
On Friday, the previous peak value of 23,542 cases had been reached. Compared to Thursday, the number of newly reported cases on Friday rose by almost 1,700.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, the RKI counts a total of 773,556 confirmed infections with Sars-CoV-2 in Germany (as of November 14, 00:00 hrs). The number of deaths related to the virus rose by 178 to a total of 12,378 by Saturday, with 218 cases on Friday. The RKI estimates that about 493,200 people have recovered in the meantime.
