In the fight against the coronavirus crisis, the German government is proposing strict contact and quarantine restrictions beyond the existing restrictions. In a draft of the draft resolution for today’s video conference of Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU) with the Prime Ministers, the German Press Agency states that children and young people should be encouraged to meet only with a steady friend in their free time. Private meetings with friends and acquaintances should generally be limited to a fixed additional household.

According to the federal government’s ideas, in the future only members of one’s own household and a maximum of two persons from another household should be allowed in public. Private celebrations are to be renounced completely up to Christmas. Since November 2, only members of one’s own household and a further household are allowed to be in public, but no more than 10 persons.

Stricter rules in schools
In the future, people should also be quarantined immediately at home for every cold symptom, especially coughs and colds.

In addition, the measures at schools are to be tightened. For example, the wearing of a mouth and nose protector is to be made compulsory for pupils of all age groups and for teachers on school grounds and during lessons. Without exception, there will also be fixed groups of students, whereby the group sizes in classrooms are to be halved compared to normal operation.
