The USA reached the mark of eleven million coronavirus infections. This was revealed yesterday from data from the University of Johns Hopkins in Baltimore. One million cases were added in less than a week: Ten million had only been reached last Monday. Most recently, the number of new infections had again reached a record high of more than 177,000 in one day.

Hospital admissions are also at a record high in about half of the 50 states. In the U.S., a good 246,000 people have died of the disease Covid-19 so far. Medical doctor Jonathan Reiner from George Washington University warned on CNN news channel yesterday that in a few weeks, only 2,000 and then 3,000 people would die daily if measures such as compulsory masks were not implemented immediately.

Biden expert: scalpel instead of axe
President Donald Trump had downplayed the danger of the corona virus. In the meantime, the governors of individual states are increasingly issuing orders to wear masks and impose restrictions on the operation of stores and restaurants.

The government of the future U.S. president Joe Biden wants to avoid broad lockdowns in its fight against the CoV pandemic through targeted measures. “We have approaches with the precision of a scalpel instead of the brute force of an axe,” said Vivek Murthy, one of the co-heads of Biden’s coronavirus expert council, TV station Fox, yesterday.
