On Friday afternoon, Federal Chancellor Sebastian Kurz said that he was “well prepared” for the distribution of a vaccine against Covid-19. During a visit to Kwizda Pharmadistribution in Leopoldsdorf (district Bruck a. d. Leitha) he stated that corresponding processes “up to the doctors who carry out the vaccinations” were professionally planned.
Kurz repeated once again the assessment that a vaccination against Covid-19 would be a game changer. In terms of vaccination coverage, 70 percent is a “critical value”: “I am confident that we will reach this level.
“We are ready for corona vaccine distribution,” affirmed Thomas Brosch, Managing Director of Kwizda Pharmahandel and member of the Board of Directors of the Austrian pharmaceutical wholesalers (PHAGO). He reported on an upgrade of the sites of the PHAGO member companies. By the end of the year, he said, it will be possible to store around three million vaccine doses at minus 70 degrees Celsius and distribute them subsequently.
