Good news for those in quarantine (and those who don’t feel like cooking): food and drugstore products can now be delivered by 10 pm on Saturdays. Previously this was only possible until 18 o’clock. The corresponding adjustments to the working hours of delivery services will take effect from tomorrow, the Ministry of Labor announced on Friday evening. For the time being, the new regulation will apply until the end of the year.
This will ensure that even people who cannot leave their homes due to a corona infection, an officially requested quarantine or for physical or professional reasons are provided with basic goods for their daily needs.
The service hours in food stores and drugstores will be extended in order to provide basic supplies – even during the lockdown – even
on Saturday, according to the Ministry of Labor. Activities such as picking goods and receiving, processing or forwarding orders are also permitted. The aim is to reduce the number of infections and to ensure that people can be supplied at home. The expansion of delivery services would lead to a reduction in physical contact in the stores and therefore reduce the risk of infection.
