For the third day in a row, the USA registered a new record in the number of new coronavirus infections. According to Johns Hopkins University, more than 230,000 new cases were registered within 24 hours yesterday, about 5,000 more than the day before. The number of deaths within one day was 2,527.
The USA is one of the countries worst affected by the pandemic worldwide. In total, the United States has already recorded more than 14.6 million coronavirus cases. More than 281,000 infected persons died. According to the COVID-19 Data Hub, the 14-day incidence (new infections in two weeks per 100,000 inhabitants) is 692.8 in the USA and 578.8 in Austria (as of yesterday).
