1) Can I meet my best friend even in lockdown?
Round-the-clock curfew restrictions apply. Visiting individual closest person has already been counted among the exceptions as meeting basic needs. This is to be expected now as well.
2) Who is exempted from the obligation to wear a mouth-nose protection?
Children up to the age of six and deaf and severely hearing impaired persons and their interlocutors during communication. There are separate rules for health reasons.
3) I have asthma. Am I exempet from the mask requirement?
People who cannot be expected to wear them for health reasons (this includes people with asthma, etc.) are exempt. In the first instance, faceshields should then be used.
4.) How do I prove that I am not wearing a mask for health reasons?
In the event of a check by public security service bodies, the reasons for claiming the exemption must be proven. For this purpose, a doctor’s confirmation of the health problem is necessary.
5). When will gyms reopen, when can everyone exercise?
Fitness studios are allowed to reopen on January 18. It is not yet clear under what specific conditions. One thing is certain: Until January 24, only people who have tested negative will be allowed to work out.
6). When will cinemas, operas and theaters reopen, who will be allowed to go?
All cultural and leisure facilities are scheduled to reopen on January 18. Until January 24, a negative Corona test is required for attendance. In addition, evening curfews are still possible.
7). Who will take care of me if my caregiver is sick or in quarantine himself?
The Ministry of Social Affairs has worked with the states to determine how care can be provided. There are telephone care hotlines in each state; the numbers are at www.sozialministerium.at.
8). May I travel to another state to ski?
Yes, day trips for outdoor physical recreation are allowed, there are no geographic restrictions. One may use one’s own vehicle or public transportation to do so.
9). Am I allowed to drives for the driver’s license during the vacations?
Previously, this was also possible in the lockdown, provided that the trips fell under the exemptions. Accordingly, trips to the grocery store, doctor’s office, or outdoor recreation, for example, are permitted.
10). Are medical services allowed in Lockdown?
In the last lockdown this was the case, and this time it can also be assumed that medical foot care, physiotherapy and massage will remain permitted. The specific list of what is possible has not yet been determined.
11). How many people will I be allowed to celebrate New Year’s Eve with?
Exit restrictions apply, and related to this, only single closest caregivers are allowed to meet. A household is thus only allowed to meet a single household stranger.
12). Do I need a test confirmation from 18 January if I want to go to the restaurants or go shopping?
As things stand, that’s the plan. The test must be no more than one week old. It has not been clarified whether the host will check on entry or whether the executive will carry out random checks.
