In Vienna, access to the Corona mass tests will be facilitated because of the current manageable influx. Specifically, starting tomorrow, Sunday, the mandatory registration for the Marx Hall and Messe locations is no longer necessary. That is: Only for a virus check in the Stadthalle a fixed appointment booking in advance is necessary, as the office of Health City Councillor Peter Hacker (SPÖ) announced on Saturday afternoon.
A spokesman explained that the Stadthalle is the smallest of the three test locations and consequently less flexible than the other two. This is also shown by the utilization figures of yesterday’s opening day: while 28 percent of the day’s capacity was used in the Stadthalle, it was only 16 percent in the Messe and the Marx-Halle only ten percent at all.
Although advance booking is now no longer mandatory at the Messe and the Marx-Halle, it is still possible, they said. A preceding date reservation accelerates in any case the procedure locally, was promised.
62,963 registrations
As of Saturday afternoon (4:30 p.m.), 62,963 people have so far registered for a free Corona check in the federal capital. The number for the current day was 9259 at that time. For tomorrow’s Sunday, just under 6000 appointments had already been allocated.
