Czech Republic largely closes borders to foreigners

As of today, the Czech Republic will only allow foreigners to enter the country in urgent cases. This was pointed out by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Prague this evening. Exceptions apply, among other things, for business trips, indispensable family visits, attendance at funerals and visits to authorities that cannot be postponed, according to a government resolution.

The government under Prime Minister Andrej Babis expressed concern about the dangers posed by new virus mutations. Recently, the British variant was detected for the first time in the EU member state.
