The number of confirmed Corona cases has increased significantly in the federal capital in the last 24 hours.
The Vienna Regional Sanitary Directorate and the Medical Crisis Staff of the City of Vienna provide regular updates on the current number of cases and other key figures on the Covid 19 virus.
As of Saturday, 88,592 positive tests have been confirmed in the federal capital since the pandemic began. The 492 positive tests reported today include nine subsequent reports from the past few days.
As recently as yesterday, there were “only” 359 new infections. The number of deaths linked to the virus is 1,643.
83,630 people have beaten the virus and recovered. On Friday, 49,455 Corona tests were registered in Vienna, making a total of 2,833,002 tests in Vienna. The health hotline 1450 has taken 5,627 calls.

A total of 1,877 new Corona cases were recorded in Austria from Friday to Saturday. Twenty people died in connection with Corona. A patient decrease of 20 was recorded in normal wards, and an increase of one in intensive care units.
