Testing for COVID-19 is now very simple. With the LOLLIPOP test, testing can be done in a snap without the unpleasant nasal or throat swabbing or spitting and gargling.
When people talk about COVID-19 antigen tests, they automatically think of the nasal swab or the spit test. Yet the latest approved variant of the Covid-19 antigen test is simpler than ever, and somewhat reminiscent in its handling of the principle of a pregnancy test. The procedure is simple and clean. Take the test out of the package, remove the lid, hold the test tip under the tongue for 2 minutes and make sure that the pen is moistened, take it out after 2 minutes and close it with the lid and wait for the result. The “Saliva SARS-CoV-2(2019-nCoV) Antigen Combined Test Kit (Nanocarbon Assay)” detects possible N and S proteins of COVID-19 virus in human sputum and is thus considered a reliable detection for possible infection. Since the test is approved for all age groups, it is very popular with both young and old.
Lollipop test 95 percent sensitive
“With this novel test method, uncomplicated testing is now possible at home. We know that antigen tests have a sensitivity of 95% and are reliable when used as described in the test instructions. We have already been able to supply the tests to a number of pharmacies throughout Austria and have received positive feedback throughout,” explains Danell Daral, Managing Director of BIDA Medical, which together with Medical United brought the LOLLIPOP® tests to Austria and now distributes them exclusively alongside the spit test and the short nasal swab test. The main customers for the tests are pharmacies, major customers from the medical device sector, physicians, and companies with company physicians for on-site testing.
