About the song AMEN
In an interview published by the Austrian daily newspaper „KRONE“, Vincent Bueno related that the song is about “a dramatic relationship story. “It’s about the inner struggle with one’s own strengths and weaknesses, which each of us knows. But the song looks to the future with hope. You can see the glass half empty or half full. It’s an active decision in life, how you use your energy,” says Vincent.
Asked about his own strengths and weaknesses? “That as an artist I’m always doubting myself, always asking myself: ‘Is this the right way?’ But if I hadn’t decided certain things back then, I wouldn’t be where I am now. Weaknesses eventually become strengths.”
Vincent Bueno is a 35-year-old singer and songwriter who is based in Vienna, Austria. He has Filipino roots and is a father of two daughters.
He started his career with 16 by graduating in Music and Performing Arts with a degree in Musical Theatre at the Vienna Conservatory of Music.
Since then he has won the Austrian singing competition “Musical – The Show” in 2008 and starred in various musicals.
Vincent Bueno at Eurovision
Vincent Bueno began his Eurovision journey in 2016, when he competed in the Austrian national final with “All We Need is That Love”. Then in 2017, he provided backing vocals at Eurovision for Nathan Trent on “Running On Air”.
In 2020, ORF internally selected Vincent Bueno to represent Austria at Eurovision 2021 with his soulful dance-pop track “Alive”. But his Eurovision dreams were snatched away when the 2020 contest was cancelled in light of COVID-19 restrictions.
According to the current status, the 65th Eurovision Song Contest will take place live. In other words, the various delegations will travel to Rotterdam, and the entries will be performed on stage in front of little or no audience. As a backup option, should someone catch an infection, for example, videos of the performances will be recorded beforehand, which can be used if the worst comes to the worst. Of course, no one hopes for that, since Eurovision is all about the live experience.
