The weather in April continues to be changeable
April remains weather-dominant: After a certain weather calming occurs from Friday and warmer temperatures and also the sun should prevail over the weekend, winter strikes again next week. On Tuesday, according to the forecast of the Central Institute for Meteorology and Geodynamics (ZAMG), morning frost and snowfall down to 500 meters above sea level are again on the agenda. So fruit growers can relax only temporarily.
Friday morning still frosty
The details: today, Friday, it will be sunny and above all dry weather in most parts of the country. However, in the course of the day, a few extensive cloud fields will move through from the west. These will remain harmless, but will cloud the sunny weather character at least temporarily. The wind from the southeast to southwest will be light to moderate, in the east the wind will sometimes be brisk. During the day, temperatures will rise to ten to 18 degrees.
20 degrees on Saturday
On Saturday, most sunshine hours will be in the eastern parts of the country. The wind will be moderate, in the south and east partly brisk from southeast to southwest, on the mountains it will sometimes be foehny. From minus three to plus six degrees in the morning, temperatures will rise to eleven to 20 degrees during the day.
Sunday will be warm
On Sunday, the day will be generally quite sunny. In the south, however, extensive cloud fields will pass through again and again, somewhat blocking the sunshine. Early temperatures will range from zero to eight degrees, with daytime highs reaching ten to 22 degrees, depending on clouds and the Föhn.
And then it’s already over with the nice weather: On Monday, the clouds will become denser and denser from the west and south and rain or snowfall will spread to the west and south by the evening. But also in the north and east a few rain showers are to be expected in the afternoon. The snow line will drop to around 700 meters in Vorarlberg, from Salzburg eastward it will mostly remain above 2,000 meters above sea level. The wind will blow weakly to moderately, in the mountains briskly first from southern directions, with the front it will turn to west to north. The early morning temperatures will range from three to ten degrees, the daily highs will reach ten to 22 degrees, although in the west it will cool down again during the day.
Cold front in sight
On Tuesday, the influence of low pressure will prevail, causing dense clouds and widespread rain or snowfall, with the snow line dropping to 1,000 to 500 meters above sea level. During the day, the focus of precipitation shifts to the south and east. The wind will blow moderately to briskly, in the mountains also stormy from northwest to north. Minus one to plus six degrees in the morning, during the day only two to twelve degrees.
