The lockdown, which runs until Sunday, could be extended further. Mayor Michael Ludwig (SPÖ) today consulted with experts on how to respond to the tense situation in intensive care units. A press conference has also been announced.
Since April 1, the extended Easter lockdown has been in effect in Vienna, Lower Austria and Burgenland. At least for the time being, it is likely to remain in effect in these three federal states in Austria. It is still unclear what will happen in the eastern region after the currently fixed end of the lockdown on April 18.
