There are 1,566 new Corona infections in Austria today (Monday). Compared to Monday of the previous week (2,117), this is a decrease of 551 cases. Due to the 2,062 new recoveries, the number of active cases also drops to 25,230. The last time we had so few active cases was March 11.
In the past 24 hours, there have been 33,741 new PCR tests. This gives a positive rate of 4.64 percent. There have been a total of 8,151,042 PCR tests performed to date.
In addition, there are eleven new deaths related to Covid-19 infection. This means that 10,098 people have died of or with Corona in Austria since the start of the pandemic.
In the Austrian normal wards in hospitals, there is an increase of 43 patients. In contrast, there are five fewer patients in intensive care units.
