In Austria, 933 new Corona infections were registered within one day – bringing the number of new cases into triple digits for the third time this week and below the average of the past seven days (1,058). The seven-day incidence dropped to 83.2 cases per 100,000 population. As of 9:30 a.m. Thursday, there were 13,195 active cases in the country, down 671 from yesterday (Wednesday).
Recovered since the outbreak of the epidemic are 611,254 people, within the past 24 hours 1,588 were considered recovered. 16 Corona-related deaths have occurred since yesterday. The seven-day average was 15.9 daily, with 111 deaths recorded in the past seven days. Overall, the Covid 19 pandemic has claimed 10,444 lives in Austria since the outbreak. Per 100,000 population, 117.3 people have died from or with Covid-19 since the pandemic began.
120 fewer patients in hospital
As of Thursday, 1,046 people were in the hospital, 120 fewer than on Wednesday. 316 Covid patients were being cared for in intensive care units. That number dropped by 28 since yesterday and is down by 118 patients in one week, the Health Ministry reported.
