Starting tomorrow, the so-called 3G – tested, recovered or vaccinated – will be valid in Austria as an entry key for gastronomy, sports, hotels, etc. In two and a half weeks, the green passport should then be ready on a national level: From June 4, the a QR code will be available in Austria, confirmed Health Minister Wolfgang Mückstein (Greens).
The domestic implementation should also already correspond to the EU-wide QR code announced from the end of June, the minister said. According to Mückstein, until June 4, all proofs are valid analogously, for example, the vaccination certificate, in which the immunization is entered, can also be photographed. One would have to show however possibly an identity card, in order to be allowed to enter restaurants, hotels, Fitnessstudio and CO.
On Monday, Mückstein had announced that Austria was phasing out Covid vaccines with Astra Zeneca. A few more initial vaccinations are to be given in early June. 747,170 people in Austria have been immunized with this vector vaccine so far, of which only 64,837 have also received the required second shot. This will only take place after three months. In March, teachers and educators, among others, were vaccinated for the first time throughout Austria with Astra Zeneca, and they are now due for the second vaccination. There is enough vaccine for this, Mückstein confirmed.
