The Austrian Press Agency (APA) reports that people who have already been vaccinated against COVID-19 can now get proof of their immunization printed from the Electronic Immunization Record at pharmacies. Via APA, the Chamber of Pharmacists in Austria said that the service is available to those insured who are also eligible to receive free tests at pharmacies. Meanwhile, a study commissioned by the chamber shows that 67 percent of pharmacists want to provide vaccinations.
48 percent of pharmacies suitable for vaccination
According to the study, under half of Austrian pharmacies (48 percent) are already suitable for on-site vaccination, 37 percent still need to be adapted, and 15 percent are not suitable. For a pharmacy to be suitable for vaccination, it needs a separate area that maintains confidentiality and hygiene.
The Chamber of Pharmacists also refers to a market research study from March, according to which 59 percent of people in Austria would like specially trained pharmacists to vaccinate them.
