The British government has postponed the relaxation of anti-Corona measures by a month because of the Delta variant.
Due to the increasing spread of the Delta variant, Italy is introducing a five-day quarantine requirement for travelers from the United Kingdom. Italian Health Minister Roberto Speranza reported this on Facebook Friday. In addition, travelers arriving from the United Kingdom will have to undergo a test. Even after the quarantine ends, a negative test must be presented.
For travelers from EU countries, including Austria, the previously required corona quarantine after arrival in Italy has been eliminated since mid-May. For entries from EU countries, the Schengen area and Israel, only a negative test is now required. Entry into Italy from India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka remains prohibited.
From next Monday, the whole of Italy will become a white zone. This means the abolition of the exit ban and only minimal corona restrictions. From the beginning of July, the outdoor mask requirement could be eliminated.
