The Czech Republic opened its borders today to tourists from all EU countries, including people residing in Switzerland, Liechtenstein and Norway. This was announced by the Ministry of the Interior in Prague. For tourists from Germany, Austria and five other EU countries, there had already been a special arrangement for two weeks. The Czech Republic had banned all entries of foreigners without good reason for months because of the Corona pandemic.

As a rule, the precondition is that travelers have tested negative, have been vaccinated or have recovered, and have filled out an online application in advance. Details can be found on the Ministry of Interior’s website. No requirements apply to border traffic with neighboring countries, such as shopping within 24 hours. The Corona situation in the Czech Republic has improved a lot. According to current figures, there were nine new infections per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days.
