In Austria, 75 new infections have been registered in the past 24 hours – after data adjustments in Carinthia and Salzburg, the number is as low as 62.
The seven-day incidence on Thursday was 6.2 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, according to figures from the Ministry of Health and Interior.
62 new Corona infections registered Thursday
As of Thursday, there are 1,859 active cases in Austria, down 100 from Wednesday. Recovered are since the outbreak of the epidemic 637,909 people, within the past 24 hours 159 recovered. On the other hand, the three deaths since yesterday are well above the seven-day average of 1.3 per day. In total, the pandemic has claimed 10,706 lives in Austria. Per 100,000 population, that’s 119.9 people who have died from or with Covid-19.
166 people currently hospitalized with Covid-19
166 people are currently being treated in hospitals, seven fewer than on Wednesday. Of those, 52 are being cared for in intensive care units. This number dropped by eight since yesterday and is down by 18 patients in one week.
A total of 579,242 tests were reported in the past 24 hours. Of these, 62,633 were meaningful PCR tests, and their positive rate was 0.1 percent. 107,759 vaccinations have been performed on Wednesday.
