Arnold Schwarzenegger Wednesday took a bike ride through downtown Vienna. “It’s fantastic to be back in Vienna. I’ve already been for a round of cycling and I’m looking forward to the ‘Austrian World Summit’ on Thursday,” he said in a statement. In the evening, Schwarzenegger will meet participants of the “Summit” – including Federal President Alexander Van der Bellen – at a dinner at the Haus des Meeres.
The “Austrian World Summit” will discuss key environmental policy issues at Vienna’s Spanish Riding School. In addition to Federal President Van der Bellen, who has again assumed the honorary patronage, Federal Chancellor Sebastian Kurz (ÖVP) will also be present from Austria. Also attending in person will be EU Commission Vice President Frans Timmermans and COP26 President Alok Sharma. Digital appearances are planned by German Chancellor Angela Merkel, UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres and Jane Goodall. U.S. climate envoy John Kerry will also be live.
