Starting next Monday, Corona vaccination will be possible in Vienna even without a vaccination appointment. As Health Councillor Peter Hacker (SPÖ) announced via broadcast, this vaccination campaign will take place from July 5 to 11 and will be carried out with the Astra-Zeneca vaccine.
“After the vaccine from AstraZeneca has also proven to be very effective against the delta variant of the Corona virus and the National Vaccination Panel has recommended a shortening of the interval between the two vaccinations from twelve to four weeks, we will also follow this recommendation in order to give the delta mutation in Vienna as little chance as possible,” said Hacker.
The action is possible because Vienna has received a surprisingly large amount of vaccine from Astra Zeneca, the city councilman added.
For people over 18
Anyone who has not yet been vaccinated and is older than 18 can take part in this campaign. No pre-registration is necessary. Vaccinations will be given from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. In total, Hacker said, up to 1,500 people can be vaccinated each day during the special vaccination drive, for a total of 10,500 people.
“Just show up and pick up an immunization against the Corona virus. What is clear, however, is that at some times there may be a traffic jam in front of the vaccination site,” Hacker said. He therefore recommends taking a look at the Austria Center’s homepage before visiting the vaccination line.
